The Engineering Management program is a unique graduate opportunity that allows engineers to broaden their management knowledge and expertise.

The program is open to students from all engineering disciplines regardless of their undergraduate specialization.
Because students have unique learning goals, the program can be adapted to include a significant number of technical courses in addition to the required core program courses. So as to accommodate students who continue working while completing their studies, many courses are offered during evening hours.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers three graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering: MEng Engineering Management, MSc, and PhD. The MEng degree is course-based while the other degrees are thesis-based. Normally, a student wishing to enter a PhD program will have completed an MSc degree first.

The course based program will require 9 courses and one project to be completed. A supervisor is not needed for this type of program. There is no funding available to MEng students (this includes no Teaching Assistantships [T.A.] and no Research Assistantships [R.A].)

Thesis based programs require fewer courses but the completion of a Thesis. Supervisor’s are required because of the financial commitment including T.A.’s and R.A’s.
